The Apopka Youth Council (AYC) is comprised of civic-minded youth that have expressed an interest in local government.
Members will learn about local government, identify ways to improve Apopka for its youth, recommend and/or create activities that will appeal to Apopka youth, and participate in community events.
This group is educated on City operations and perform service projects throughout the year.
On Wednesday, March 17, 2021 the Apopka Youth Council members visited the Apopka Fire Department and learned about their therapy dog program and toured the training facility.
On Thursday, April 8, 2021 the Apopka Youth Council (AYC) visited the Apopka Police Department and learned about the K9 unit and specialized vehicles. They also conducted a tour of the Apopka Police Station.
