Station 4
2750 West Orange Avenue
Engine 4, Ambulance 4,
Tanker 4, Brush 4, Marine 4

In 1997, at the request of the owners, the City of Apopka annexed over 1000 acres of land which included several large nurseries, industrial complexes, and commercial businesses West of town in the Plymouth area. Fire station 4 was completed within the year and opened in August of 1998. Included in station 4's response area are several new residential neighborhoods.

Engine 4 is a 2000 American LaFrance Eagle Series Pumper with a 1500 GPM Hale single stage pump.  It caries 1000' of 5" supply hose, 800' of 2 ½" hose, four 1 ¾" pre-connected attack lines, two 200' booster reels, 750 gallons of water and a 30 gallon foam tank.  It is equipped with a global positioning and mapping laptop computer. This engine also carries a thermal imager camera and complete set of TNT vehicle extrication equipment.

Ambulance 4 is a 1998 National Ambulance on a Ford F350 chassis. All Apopka ambulances are State licensed advanced life support units and carry a wide array of life saving equipment including a cardiac heart monitor, airway adjuncts, and a wide selection of emergency medications. It is also equipped with a global positioning and mapping laptop computer. It is staffed with a paramedic/firefighter and an EMT/firefighter.

Brush 4 is a 1995 Ford F350 with a Darley 250 GPM pump. It carries 300 gallons of water with 200' of booster hose, 100' of 1 3/4" pre-connected attack hose, and a wide array of brush/woods firefighting equipment.

Tanker 4 carries 5600 gallons of water and is the largest water supply unit in Orange County. Although the water supply system in Apopka is top rated, this unit was purchased to more adequately protect the recently annexed areas on the West and now North end of the city limits which consist of several nurseries and industrial complexes where water isn’t as plentiful, yet.
